Maan Methven is an audio/visual artist based in Brussels. She studied film at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent and developed an artistic practice that makes use of a wide variety of media. Through films, photographs, songs, text and sound compositions she seeks to give expression to a hyper-sensitive, visceral inner life; World of Ma’an.

Nurtured by embodied voice work and somatic experiencing therapy, a lot of her more recent work revolves around the act of restoring (of intimacy), regenerating (of the landscape) and revitalizing (of our bodies).

She is currently developing an experimental film and is working on a vocal sound sculpture. In parallel, she creates music with her band Zemlya and develops a photo series centering around hidden characters living inside the wounded female body.
